Las Vegas, NV-Dale Lee Whited, 56, died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Dale was born in Clifton Forge, VA, to Rebecca and Leon Whited on Nov. 30, 1958.
Dale graduated from Greenbrier East High School in 1977 and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1992. After 15 years of work in construction, he retired as a member of the Construction Industry and Laborers’ Union Local 872.
You can take the man out of the country but you can’t take the country out of a man. Dale’s passions included hunting, fishing, camping, NASCAR, and being in the mountains. He was a loving father and grandfather. He was honest, genuine, and definitely one of a kind. Dale will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Preceding him in death was a brother; Stanley Whited.
Surviving are: his parents, Rebecca and Leon Whited; partner, Lori Hamilton; mother of his children; Christine Whited; his sons, Daniel and Brian Whited; and daughter, Christy Whited; grandchildren, J.J. and Tyler Broady, Caleb, Jonah, Emelyn, Kaylee and Mesa Whited. He is also survived by his brothers, Michael Whited (Rose), Alan Whited (Angie) and Steve Whited (Shari); and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
His memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 13, in the Chapel of Shanklin Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mapledale Cemetery, Rt. 92, White Sulphur Springs.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
