Crichton Elementary School fifth graders recently completed the DARE program in a 10-week course.
The course was taught to them by Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department Cpl. Rick Honaker. The course covered a variety of subjects from drug abuse, alcohol abuse, underage tobacco use, conflict resolution, bullying, and making good choices in life. Each chapter was completed with a glossary and defined each weeks key terms.
The program culminated in all students who completed the course received a certificate of completion and each submitted a DARE essay. The DARE essay winner received a $50 gift card to GameStop, donated by Butch McQuain of Nationwide Insurance in Charmco.
