On Monday, Aug. 27, a collision between a car and a cement truck occurred at the intersection of Route 60 and 219 in downtown Lewisburg.
The car, a 2014 Ford Focus driven by Diana Hoke of Gap Mills, was headed northbound on 219 and ran the red light at the intersection. Subsequently, the car was t-boned by a cement truck passing through the intersection headed east on Route 60.
Multiple eyewitnesses confirmed that the car did run the red light, according to Lewisburg Police Chief Tim Stover. The driver of the truck, Charles Axtell of Alderson, was unharmed. Hoke was treated at the scene and later transported to Greenbrier Valley Medical Center. The extent of her injuries is unknown.
