Monongahela National Forest invites everyone to join us at the Cranberry Mountain Nature Center for the annual Native Orchid Tour Saturday, June 29, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The program begins at the Cranberry Mountain Nature Center with a presentation followed by a guided trip to Cranberry Glades and the surrounding area. Rosanna Springston, Monongahela National Forest employee and wildflower enthusiast, will lead the tour. The program is free and takes place rain or shine. Reservations are not required. Wear appropriate footwear for hiking.
Cranberry Mountain Nature Center is open Thursday through Monday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed Tuesday and Wednesday). The Nature Center features a display area with live snakes, wildflowers, interactive children’s displays and animals of West Virginia. There is also a nature store with educational materials, books, clothing and toys.
