On Aug. 24, a brief meeting was conducted by the Greenbrier County Commission. A number of courthouse construction project items were tabled until the next meeting as there is nothing to report as of the meeting time.
“They’re action items that are only to be taken if something is going on there, or payment schedules that would be due, as of now there isn’t anything that needs to be discussed and it will be tabled until next County Commission meeting, but at this time we do not have anything to do.” Commissioner Lowell Rose explained.
In new business, a draw request was made towards the broadband project for the towers located in Quinwood, totaling $532,404.23. Commissioner Tammy Shifflett-Tincher made a motion to pay the request, with all commissioners in agreement.
Financial approvals for an Arts and Recreation transfer of $30,962.00 passed in a 2-1 vote. Commissioners Rose and Michael McClung voted yes, and Commissioner Tincher nay.
In other news, a new hire for the tax office was approved and a check for $7,898.48 from GovDeals for law enforcement automobile supply was received.
