The Williamsburg Community Educational Outreach Service (CEOS) Club took a “country road” to meet together at the Williamsburg Historical Foundation Museum on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
LauraAnn Tiller led the lesson about the popular John Denver song, “Country Roads,” which has been around for 50 years and has become a staple of West Virginia culture. This lesson traced the origins of the song and how it has grown in popularity over the last 50 years. Of course everyone sang the song too! These lessons provided by the WVU Extension Service always provide lots of interesting information and share recipes, activities, opportunities etc. Those participating include Lynn Jones, Blanche Knicely, Shela McComsey, Cassandria Perkins, Burl and Patty Post, Loretta Shirley, Linda Spencer, and Denver and LauraAnn Tiller.
The club meets again at the Museum on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at noon for another interesting lesson titled “Beverly, WV: Small Town Big History.”
Members of the CEOS are people like you! So come and join us!
