The Greenbrier River Trail Foundation (GRTF) recently launched a new Trail website: https://www.greenbrierrivertrail.com. The project was generously funded by an October 2024 grant from the Appalachian Forest National Heritage Area with match funds from one of our new GRTF Board Members, Craig Attkisson.
The primary focus of the new website is for Trail Visitors planning a horseback, hiking or biking excursion on the Trail. The “Plan Your Visit” page is robust with trip planning resources, an interactive trail map, detailed trail amenities, lists of shuttles and outfitters and videos and blogs from prior GRT trips by Trail visitors. Links to the Pocahontas and Greenbrier Convention Visitor Bureaus websites help to tell the stories of Trail Towns (Cass, Marlinton, Seebert, and Lewisburg).
Hannah Rivoire, another new GRTF Board Member, developed an informative web page with old photos and stories about the history of the Trail. GRTF will continue to add information and photos to the History page and also the Biodiversity of the ecosystems that make up the unique tapestry of the Greenbrier Valley.
Please visit the new website. You may also want to consider donating to the Foundation for the upkeep and maintenance of the Trail.
