In an article titled “World’s best single barrel bourbon award goes to Smooth Ambler” in the Mar. 5 issue of the Mountain Messenger; a reference was made to the term “orphaned barrels” defined as left-over resources no longer being used as a result of the company (Seagrams) having gone out of business. Source barrels are commonly referred to as orphan barrels in the spirit source brokering business, and, by happenstance, is the name of a whiskey distillery. The article makes no inference to any competitor of Smooth Ambler Spirits named Orphan Barrels.
