The City of Ronceverte posted the following notice on Thursday, Sept. 11 regarding the ongoing demolition projects around the City and their stalled progress:
“The contractor contacted me and indicated that they will arrive on site next week. However, they were actually present last week, working on the Lewisburg Avenue sites. Regarding the theater, there are beams that require removal, and the contractor has informed me that they will rent equipment to ensure safe extraction.
The necessary plans and rentals are scheduled for next week. In addition to the theater, there are two houses on Greenbrier Avenue that still require attention. One house needs cleanup and seeding, while the other requires cleanup and removal of burnt debris.
The house on Monroe Avenue has been removed from the demolition list, as the owner has contacted the city and intends to sell the property. The contractor acknowledged receiving several calls and emails and emphasized that safety is their top priority. If all goes as planned, they anticipate being on site next week.”
