The beloved Christmas at the Fair drive-through light show experience has returned to the State Fair of West Virginia for the 2023 holiday season. After opening night on Nov. 30, the light show will be held Thursdays through Sundays from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. through Saturday, Dec. 23.
The route starts at the 219 North entrance to the fairgrounds (near the livestock barns). It winds down through the grounds and loops around the midway before coming back up for an exit at the 219 North entrance location. There are restrooms available at the agriculture pavilion, as well as vendors offering funnel cakes, deep-fried Oreos, hot chocolate, and coffee to attendees.
Visitors should turn their radio to 106.9, and make sure to turn off vehicle headlights while in procession. Rain or shine, the light show will be held! The cost of this event is by donation only, with all proceeds going to support next year’s event.
