Rejoice with the family and friends of Carol Morgan Ramsey as they announce her earthly death on Feb. 8, 2026.
Carol’s life speaks for itself. She was the epitome of a Christian woman – a loving wife and mother. Proverbs 31 could have been written about her.
There are intangible gifts a mother can give her children. The first is faith. The second is loving their father. The third is teaching them what is right while loving and supporting them when they are wrong.
Carol was born in Ronceverte, WV, and graduated from Greenbrier High School. She volunteered in the Children’s Ministry at Connelly Memorial Baptist Church and North Roanoke Baptist Church. She was a volunteer at Westside Elementary School throughout her children’s time there. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels for 17 years. Carol received great joy in sending Veterans Day cards each year to those who served their country.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lambert and Kathleen Morgan; siblings Delbert Morgan (Sarah) and Dayton Morgan (Poochie); and brothers-in-law Paul Wong and Manfred Bennett.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Ernest Ramsey; her children, Lori Morgan (Eric), Dean Ramsey (Sharon), and Darin Ramsey (Reid); her grandsons, Spencer Ramsey (Emily) and Andrew Ramsey; her miracle great-grandsons, Samuel Ramsey and Zachariah Ramsey; her sisters, Charlotte Wong and Linda Bennett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 1 p.m., with the funeral following at 2 p.m. Both services were held at Oakey’s North Chapel, 6732 Peters Creek Rd., Roanoke, VA.
Graveside following at Blue Ridge Memorial Garden.
The family gives thanks to God for the compassionate Amedisys hospice team He assembled to walk with Carol and her loved ones during this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the North Roanoke Baptist Church Building Fund at https://pushpay.com/g/nrbcroanoke then select “Gift for Phase 1 Renovations.
