On Thursday, Dec. 13, at 7:30 p.m., Riders in the Sky celebrate the holiday season as they present “Christmas the Cowboy Way” at Carnegie Hall in Lewisburg.
For more than 30 years, this classic cowboy quartet has carried the flame passed on by Gene Autry and Roy Rogers, revitalizing the western music tradition and even singing in the hit Pixar film Toy Story 2. In “Christmas the Cowboy Way,” Riders in the Sky will mix classic Christmas tunes with the wide-open spirit of cowboy music, sprinkling the evening with their wacky western wit and down-home charm.
Riders In The Sky members include Ranger Doug (vocals/guitar), Too Slim (upright bass), Woody Paul (vocals/fiddle), and Accordionist Joey (accordion). Together they have chalked up over 6100 concert appearances in all 50 states and 10 countries, appearing in venues everywhere from the Nashville National Guard Armory to New York City’s Carnegie Hall, and from county fairs to the Hollywood Bowl.
Performance tickets start at $30, and discounts are available for Carnegie Hall members, students, senior citizens, and military. To purchase tickets call Carnegie Hall Box Office at 304-645-7917, visit www.carnegiehallwv.org, or stop by at 611 Church Street, Lewisburg.
