On Saturday, June 15, at approximately 8:30 a.m., members of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two-vehicle automobile accident that occurred on US Route 219 near Renick. The investigation revealed that the two vehicles were traveling in opposite directions on US Route 219 at the time of the incident. A southbound vehicle being operated by John Michael Kinnison, 62, of Marlinton, crossed into the northbound traffic lane and made contact with a northbound vehicle. The subsequent impact resulted in the ejection of Mr. Kinnison, who was the lone occupant, from his vehicle.
Mr. Kinnison ultimately succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the accident. The occupants of the northbound vehicle did not suffer any serious injuries.
The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene/Accident Reconstruction Team processed the scene.
The Frankford Volunteer Fire Department and White Sulphur Springs EMS provided on scene services.
