Since July, 2014, all building projects in Lewisburg require a building permit application. City code reads, “Any owner or authorized agent who intends to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish or change the occupancy of a building or structure, or to erect, install, enlarge, alter, repair, remove, convert or replace any electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing system, the installation of which is regulated by this code, or to cause any such work to be done, shall first make application to the building official and obtain the required permit and must be licensed to perform work within the City of Lewisburg.”
Before starting a project please call the Lewisburg Building Department at 304-645-2080 extension 120 or Ray Still at 304-646-9693 for information about the permit process. The permit process protects property owners by ensuring that inspections are done when needed and that contractors doing the work are licensed.
