Back to School Fun Fair at White Sulphur Springs Library

Join the community on Thursday, Aug. 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the White Sulphur Springs Public Library for a Back to School Fun Fair. There will be free hot dog dinners, free haircuts for kids, free library cards, and much more. The fair will host a variety of fun activities as well as informational stations including Read Aloud, WSS Girl Scouts, general health information, and other community organizations. Visit the informational stations, show the library staff your child/family library card, and your child’s name will be placed in a drawing for a free backpack filled with school supplies. The library is located at 344 W. Main Street, White Sulphur Springs. Please call 304-536-1171 with any questions.

Auction for Williamsburg District Historical Foundation on August 3

The Williamsburg District Historical Foundation is sponsoring the annual auction on Saturday, Aug. 3. Donations are needed to make this auction successful. Donations are welcome. They may be placed on the porch on the side of the building or the museum is staffed on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. and donations are welcome. Call 304-645-2153 or 304-646-5793 with questions. 

Alderson Farmers Market

is held each Tuesday from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. beginning May 7 – Oct. 29. They offer WIC, senior vouchers, carrot club for children, stretch, snap, and they accept credit cards (purchases must be $5 or more).

Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers available

The Greenbrier County Committee on Aging now has vouchers available for the 2024 Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program.

Vouchers are available at the following locations:

  • Western Greenbrier Senior Center, 284 Greenbrier Street Rupert 304-392-5138. Monday through Friday 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m.
  • Eastern Greenbrier Senior Center, 150 Taylor Lane Fairlea 304-645-1978. Monday through Friday. 8 to 10 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m.

Must be at least 60 years of age and meet income guidelines. Bring ID with proof of age.
