Art Show in Rupert

The Rupert Public Library will host an Art Show Friday, Apr. 29, and Saturday, Apr. 30. There will be a reception Friday, Apr. 29 from 5-7 p.m. Guests will be able to view the art exhibits while they listen to light music by the Goodson Boys. Hors d’oeuvres will be served. The West Virginia Woodturners Association will have for viewing several wooden pieces they have crafted. The art exhibits will also be available to view Saturday 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. For more information, call the library at 304-392-6158, Tuesday through Saturday.

Williamsburg Thrift Shop Sale & New Hours

The Williamsburg Thrift Shop will be open different hours on Saturdays. The shop will be open 10 a.m. to noon on Saturdays, Fridays from 5 to 7 p.m., and Mondays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A special $2 bag sale of children’s and junior clothes/shoes, and men’s clothes and shoes, will be held Saturday, Apr. 30 and Monday, May 2.

AHMH’s May schedule

American Heritage Music Hall at Island Park, 315 Monroe Avenue, Ronceverte, is a nonprofit organization (Ref. IRS 501(c)3) and handicap accessible. No alcohol and no smoking. All music nights doors open at 6 p.m., music starts at 7 to 10:30 p.m. Break at 8 p.m. for announcements and food. (Food & drinks supplied by audience.) Ronceverte Library Salad Luncheon

This year’s theme for the Ronceverte Public Library Salad Luncheon is “Libraries: Keys to the World.” The event will be held Thursday, May 5 at Trinity United Methodist Church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets for the luncheon are $9 in advance and $10 at the door or delivered. Anyone wanting a salad delivered may call the Ronceverte Public Library at 304-647-7400 no later than May 3 by 7 p.m. All proceeds go to the Ronceverte Public Library operational fund.

Sweet Springs Dance

There will be a dance on Saturday, May 7, at the Sweet Springs Rescue Squad building from 7-10 p.m. The Eads Mountain Boys will provide the music. Admission is $6 per person, and concessions open at 6 p.m.

Gateway Industries Inc. presents

Derby Day Celebration

at the WV State Fairgrounds, May 7, from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Cecil H. Underwood Youth Center, Lewisburg. Enjoy a complimentary dinner and hors d’oeuvres, while you watch the race on several large screen TVs. Live music provided by Richard Hefner and the Black Mountain Bluegrass Boys. Silent auction, door prizes and Most Spectacular Hat contest among the entertainment offered. Pick your favorite horse and place a bet (Gateway Industries takes a portion of winnings, the rest is yours!) Proceeds benefit Gateway Industries Building Fund.

GC Circuit Riders meet at Shoney’s

If you ride a motorcycle and would like to integrate your passion for riding with your passion for spreading the Word of God you might be interested in the Christian Motorcyclist Association. The Greenbrier Valley Circuit Riders is a well-established Chapter that has been going strong and growing for the past 15 years. We invite you to our monthly meetings at Shoney’s in Lewisburg the first Tuesday of every month at 7 o’clock. We typically discuss upcoming rides, evangelistic ministry opportunities and enjoy fun and fellowship with our members. Our annual fundraiser ride called Run for the Son is coming up the first Saturday in May (May 7), so stay posted for details. AA meetings

are held at St. James Episcopal Church, 218 South Court Street, Lewisburg, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7 p.m. and on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 12 noon.

NarAnon meetings

are held Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 218 South Court Street, Lewisburg. NarAnon is a 12-step support group for persons effected by someone else’s addiction. Call Susan at 304-646-6506 for more information.

Weekly AI-Anon meeting

is held every Thursday, 7-8 p.m. at Lewisburg United Methodist Church. Enter at back door (Lee Street entrance). AI-Anon is a 12-step organization for family and friends of people with alcohol problems. For information call Sue at 304-646-6506 or Dee at 304-667-1766.

The Bluefield Princeton area

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Support Group

meets once a month, usually around the last Tuesday. The group is open to all who have MS and also family and friends. Medical students and such are welcome. There is no charge or fee to join. We’re into our 28th year as a group. Please come, you’ll find us a caring and encouraging group. For more information call Doug Mullins, group leader, at 304-753-9126.
