AHMH’s February schedule
Tuesday Jam Sessions at the American Heritage Music Hall (AHMH) at Island Park, 315 Monroe Avenue, Ronceverte, have moved to every Friday night starting Feb. 6, and continuing Feb. 13, 20, 27 and Mar. 6 and 13, from 7 to 10/10:30 p.m. each evening. Doors open at 6, music starts at 7 p.m. Admission: Tuesdays $7 each; dance night $10 each. In February, the dance will be Saturday, Feb. 28 and will feature the Lilly Mountaineers (from the Beckley area). The dance in March will be held on Mar. 28 featuring Bill Evans & The Night Riders. Admission includes food, coffee and soft drinks brought in by the audience and donated to the music hall to share with everyone. (Bring your favorite snack to share.) (Note: AHMH DOES NOT PROVIDE ANY FOOD OR DRINKS). A family type atmosphere with no alcohol and no smoking, the Music Hall is handicap accessible, and a nonprofit organization, 501(c)3, located at Island Park, Ronceverte. Wellspring Of Greenbrier, Inc.
presents The Annual Winter Book Bonanza Feb. 10-11-12, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Wellspring Center is located on Rt. 60 beside Rupert City Hall. Come browse, have a cup of coffee or hot chocolate, and find some good winter books for your reading pleasure. Wellspring of Greenbrier, Inc. is a nonprofit, all volunteer, public charity assisting the poor, low-income, homeless and disadvantaged people of Greenbrier County.
Free tax filing services
North Central Community Action has partnered with the IRS to provide free tax filing services. If your household income is less than $60,000 a year and you have a simple tax return such as a 1040 or a 1040A, you are welcome to go to myfreetaxes.com click on the gold “File Now” box to complete your state and federal tax returns at no charge to you. There is a 24 hour support line on the website. If you do not have access to the internet, you may call to set up an appointment to use the computers at our office for you to prepare your taxes. Narconon
would like to remind families that the use of addicting drugs is on the rise, take steps to protect your family from drug use. AA meetings
are held at St. James Episcopal Church, 218 S. Court, Lewisburg at 7 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 12 noon.
NarAnon meetings
are held Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 218 South Court Street, Lewisburg. NarAnon is a 12-step support group for persons effected by someone else’s addiction. Contact Susan at 304-646-6506 for questions.
