Burning Season Guidelines
Burning is prohibited during burning season Oct. 1 through Dec. 31 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. If burning has occurred during permitted hours (5 p.m. to 7 a.m.), the fire must be completely extinguished by 7 a.m. Burning season prohibitions exclude small fires for the purpose of food preparation, warmth or light around which all grass, brush, stubble or debris has been removed for at least 10 feet from the fire and burning which is conducted at any time when the ground surrounding the burning site is covered by one inch of snow or more.
Williamsburg Shooting Match
Fall is here. Hunting Season is near. Hone in on your shooting skills at the Williamsburg shooting match. It will be held Oct. 4 beginning at 7 p.m. Come early! Come Hungry! Bring your family. Delicious hot food and refreshments will be available starting at 6 p.m. Families welcomed; you don’t have to shoot to come get a meal! The Match will be eight rounds, 12-gauge guns only. Full choke, .660 inch minimum. Screw in chokes must be from a recognized supplier (patent-ed) and extend no more than 3 inches beyond origi-nal barrel. Barrel length 34” maximum. First Seven rounds @ $2.50 per shot, eighth round 50/50 @$7.50 per shot. Shooters must compete in the first 7 rounds in order to compete in the 8th round. 50/50 splatter match is $1 per chance between rounds – Cash prizes will be awarded. Greenbrier GOP annual dinner set for October 11
The Greenbrier GOP will host its annual dinner, Oct. 11, at the Quality Inn in Lewisburg. The keynote speaker will be Grover Norquist, the President and Founder of Americans for Tax Reform. Norquist and his organization were pivotal in the Reagan Tax Cuts, the Bush Tax Cuts, and now the Trump Tax Cuts. He will be discussing the One Big Beautiful Bill and President Trump’s agenda designed to advance the American economy. This dinner will also feature our efforts to start Young Republicans and Turning Point USA chapters in our area, as well as tributes to the late Charlie Kirk.
