Mountain Transit Authority

will be closed Dec. 24, 25 and 26 for Christmas; and Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 for New Year’s. Please call 304-872-5872 for schedule information.

Greenbrier County Health Department

will be closed Dec. 24 and 25 and reopen on Dec. 26 at 8:30 a.m. The Dept. will be closed Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 and reopen Jan. 2 at 8:30 a.m.

AHMH’s December/January schedule

Tuesday night Jam Sessions at the American Heritage Music Hall (AHMH) at Island Park, 315 Monroe Avenue, Ronceverte, are planned for Dec. 16 (closed Dec. 23 and 30), Jan. 6, 13, 20 and 27, from 7 to 10/10:30 p.m. each evening. Doors open at 6, music starts at 7 p.m. Admission: Tuesdays $7 each; dance night $10 each. The Saturday Night Dance on Dec. 20 will feature Steele Country. Wednesday, Dec. 31, New Year’s Eve – 8 p.m. to midnight – New Year’s Eve Dance will feature Bill Evans & The Night Riders. Admission includes food, coffee and soft drinks brought in by the audience and donated to the music hall to share with everyone. (Bring your favorite snack to share.) (Note: AHMH DOES NOT PROVIDE ANY FOOD OR DRINKS). A family type atmosphere with no alcohol and no smoking, the Music Hall is handicap accessible, and a nonprofit organization, 501(c)3, located at Island Park, Ronceverte. Wellspring of Greenbrier, Inc., Rupert

is not accepting clothing, furniture or household items now through Dec. 31. The only items accepted during this time are blankets, towels, non-perishable foods. The adopt-a-family program is currently under way. If you would like to adopt a family please call 304-392-2095.

Elks Lodge New Year’s Eve party

Open to the community. Presenting the band: Switch – five bands in one, good time rock and more. Bring in the New Year’s with entertainment and friends at the Elks Lodge, 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., 843 Brush Road, Lewisburg. Upstairs Banquet Room Facility. Food: light appetizers; Drinks: Cash Bar. $50 per couple at door.

Narconon

would like to remind families that the use of addicting drugs is on the rise, take steps to protect your family from drug use. AA meetings

are held at St. James Episcopal Church, 218 S. Court, Lewisburg at 7 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 12 noon.

NarAnon meetings

are held Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 218 South Court Street, Lewisburg. NarAnon is a 12-step support group for persons effected by someone else’s addiction. Contact Susan at 304-646-6506 for questions.

The Bluefield Princeton area

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Support Group

meets once a month, usually around the last Tuesday. The group is open to all who have MS and also family and friends. Medical students and such are welcome. There is no charge or fees to join. We’re into our 28th year as a group. Please come, you’ll find us a caring and encouraging group. For more information call Doug Mullins, group leader, at 304-753-9126.
