Greenbrier County Health Department
will be unable to administer any vaccines or TB Skin tests until further notice. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause.
Greenbrier Recycling
on Monroe Avenue in Ronceverte is currently taking hardback books for recycling. Hardback books must be brought in Monday through Friday during business hours 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are no after hour drop-offs for hardback books at this time.
AHMH’s September/October schedule
American Heritage Music Hall at Island Park, 315 Monroe Avenue, Ronceverte is a nonprofit organization (Ref. IRS 501(c)3) and handicapped accessible. No alcohol and no smoking. All music nights schedule: door opens at 6 p.m., music starts at 7 to 10:30. Break at 8 p.m. for announcements and food. Mountaineer Horseshoe Club to host annual WV State Horseshoe Tournament
The Mountaineer Horseshoe Club will host the 78th annual WV State Horseshoe Tournament, Sept. 5, starting at 8 a.m. at the horseshoe courts, Island Park, Ronceverte.
MTA will be closed
Monday, Sept. 7, for Labor Day. Regular operations will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
Lewisburg City Hall will be closed
Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of Labor Day. The City of Lewisburg will not pick up recycling on Monday, Sept. 7. The recycling pickup schedule will be as follows: Monday customers pick up on Tuesday, Sept. 8; Tuesday customers pick on Wednesday, Sept. 9; Wednesday customers pick up on Thursday, Sept. 10; Thursday and Friday customers pick up on Friday, Sept. 11. Greenbrier Valley Solid Waste will operate on their normal schedule, picking up regular trash Monday through Friday.
Newcomers Club Meeting
On Tuesday, Sept. 15, members of the long-standing woman’s club, Newcomers & Old Friends, will meet at 7 p.m. at the home of Janice Milam in Lewisburg. All ladies are invited; it doesn’t matter if you are new to the area or you’ve lived here for years. Light refreshments will be served. Please call Janice at 304-645-4799 to RSVP or if you need directions.
The Bluefield Princeton area
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Support Group
meets once a month, usually around the last Tuesday. The group is open to all who have MS and also family and friends. Medical students and such are welcome. There is no charge or fees to join. We’re into our 28th year as a group. Please come, you’ll find us a caring and encouraging group. For more information call Doug Mullins, group leader, at 304-753-9126.
