Blacksburg, SC-Bobby Joe Long, 76, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Saturday, Apr. 25, 2020, at his home.

Born July 30, 1943, at Renick, he was the son of the late Earl and Edith Fern Tharp Long.

Bobby was of the Methodist faith. He loved his dogs, Brut and Patches. Bobby was an avid fisherman, gardener, loved the outdoors and Nascar. He was a fan of WVU Sports, Carolina Panthers football and Duke Bluedevils basketball.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, James Phillip Long.

Survivors include son, Robert Long (Sandie) of Commerce, GA; grandson, Jake Long of Gainesville, GA; sister, Wanda McMillion of Hillsboro; a step-brother and a step-sister.

Graveside service was held on Thursday, Apr. 30, at the Sunset Cemetery, Jacox, WV, where Pastor Pete Scott officiated.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to Sunset Cemetery, c/o Lyle Ware, 752 Jacox Road, Hillsboro, WV 24946.
