White Sulphur Springs-Bobby Gene Snedegar, known by many as “Bobby Gene the Dancing Machine,” passed away Friday, Nov. 15, 2019, at the White Sulphur Springs Center. He was 79 years old.
Born May 17, 1940, in Esty, WV, he was the son of the late John Edgar and Bertha Irene Ayers Snedegar.
Bobby was of the Baptist faith and was an avid dancer. He also worked as a self-employed auto-body mechanic.
Survivors include his first wife, Martha Snedegar; second wife, Ginger Lyall; longtime companion, Lena Mae Keaveney; daughters, Kimberly Snedegar (Shawn Wilson), and Jennifer Snedegar (Bernard Mines); sons, Tommy Snedegar (Martha), and Ronnie Snedegar (Debra); sisters, Margie Stidom, Madeline Yates, and Gladys Corona; brother, Edgar Snedegar; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Monday, Nov. 18, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg where Pastor Lewis Brooks officiated. Burial was in Morningside Cemetery at Renick.
Visitation was held at the funeral home before the service. A covered dish reception was held at the Renick Fire House following the service.
