There will be a Boater Education Class on May 16, held at the Bluestone State Park Activities Building from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m. The Boater Education Course is mandatory training prior to operating a motorboat in West Virginia for anyone born on or after Dec. 31, 1985.
The Boating Safety Education Course is a minimum of seven hours and is open to everyone age 11 and older. The course is all classroom work and topics covered range from: How to Purchase a Boat Designed for You, to How to Operate a Motorboat, Safety Equipment/Laws, Navigation Rules, and even How to Tie a Knot. All of this followed with a final exam. This course is NASBLA approved and recognized in all states.
