November was a busy month for the Bluebell Garden Club. Decorating holiday pots for downtown merchants is the club’s annual fundraiser and this year all proceeds were directed to the Davis Stuart School for Christmas gifts to the children residing there. Members were out in force on Nov. 19, decorating 51 pots for 22 merchants in Lewisburg. The behind the scenes work took place over several days with members cutting, sorting, and bagging greenery, and selecting ornaments for each pot.
Individual donations from club members and additional club funds brought the total to $2,820; a check was presented to Kasey Carter, the Director of Administration of Davis Stuart, at the Nov. 20 meeting. An additional $600 was raised from club members for the Lewisburg Food Locker, just another way the Bluebells spread Christmas cheer in our community.
