Blue Sulphur CEOS members enjoyed a St Patrick’s day theme at their March meeting held at the Alderson Big Wheel on Tuesday, Mar. 15. Following lunch and fellowship the meeting was called to order by President Judy Lohmeyer who also read a meditation based on Phillippians 4:16 and lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
Secretary Mary Mitchell called the roll with everyone answering the roll call with their favorite St. Patrick’s memory or menu. Following roll call Mitchell read the minutes from the last meeting. Treasurer Judy Stacks gave a report on the club’s finances, Family Committee Chairman Kate Wood gave information on using cell phones safely, information on supporting 4 H and recycling items that benefit the schools.
Health Motivator Mary Mitchell presented information on prevention of osteoporosis and ways to get more calcium in your body, followed by the group doing stretching and resistance movements. An email message was read from Anne Berkley, Purposeful Reading chairman reminding the group to continue reading and the usefulness of the reading list in their 2016 handbook.
Following discussions on the club’s old and new business planning began for the Greenbrier County CEOS’ July 19 picnic on Muddy Creek Mountain that the club will host. The General meeting adjourned with the repeating of the Club Collect. Kate Wood then presented a very interesting and informative lesson on Homemade Cleaning Products, she gave everyone a book clip light. St. Patrick’s themed door prizes were won by Judy Stacks and Jessica Clay.
