The WV Southern Regional Highway Safety Program will fund local law enforcement agencies to conduct increased enforcement both day and night along Route 60 in West Virginia. Enforcement will be conducted Friday, June 12 through Saturday, June 20.
Route 60 was selected for increased enforcement because of its history of a high number of crashes. Local law enforcement agencies will heavily increase patrols and checkpoints in an effort to make the roadway safer and reduce the number of crashes, injuries and fatalities along Route 60 during this time frame.
Locally, the following agencies will participate in the Blitz 60 Enforcement: White Sulphur Springs PD, Lewisburg PD, Greenbrier CSO, Rainelle PD and the Fayette CSO.
Other agencies across West Virginia along Route 60 will also increase enforcement during the blitz period.
