More than 300 cyclists are gearing up to hit the road in the Greenbrier Valley as the Bike VirginiaS tour rolls through from June 24 to 26. Utilizing the State Fairgrounds as the headquarters, bike enthusiasts from all over the U.S. are expected to explore the valley at the organization’s 35th annual event.

“We [Bike VirginiaS] selected the Greenbrier Valley because of the attractive blend of amenities, including amazing outdoor recreation, great food, friendly people, ample lodging, RV camping, and a warm welcome from planning officials,” said Kim Perry, executive director for Bike VirginiaS.

Participants range in age from 10 to 85 years old and ride a wide variety of bicycle types, including road bikes, mountain bikes, recumbent, three-wheel, e-bikes, and even the occasional unicycle. They can choose from a selection of bicycle route options each day, from ten to 100 miles. The ride is not a race and is intended as a sightseeing adventure. Prior to arrival, guests will have enjoyed three days of riding in the Buena Vista, VA area.

Walk-in registration is available on Monday, June 24, at the West Virginia State Fairgrounds RV camping area. For more information about Bike VirginiaS, visit www.BikeVirginia.org.

“We are excited to have this opportunity to welcome BikeVirginiaS to the Greenbrier Valley,” said Kara D. Dense, president and CEO of the Greenbrier County Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB). “Our organization has been working with this group for several months to help coordinate and connect Bike Virginia with local businesses and agencies. We’re excited to see the event come to fruition.”
