White Sulphur Springs-Betty G. Lawhorn Rider went to be with our Lord on Sunday, May 15, 2016.
Born Sept. 15, 1929, in Covington, VA, the daughter of the late Flossie Lawhorn.
She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking and knitting.
She was preceded in death by a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Cecil Rider; three daughters, Linda Brackman, Gladys Wykle and Barbara Holmes all of White Sulphur Springs; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held on Tuesday, May 17 at Hillcrest Cemetery in White Sulphur Springs, where Pastor Randy Gilliam officiated. There was no visitation.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the wss Rescue Squad and the Peyton Hospice House at 1265 Maplewood Avenue, Lewisburg, WV 24901.
Shanklin Funeral Home, White Sulphur Springs, is serving the family.
