Join CASA & CYAC in the inaugural softball tournament, County Pride – 4 Teams 1 Dream, between personnel from CASA, CYAC, DHHR, Law Enforcement, Attorneys, DNR, Prosecutor’s Office, Service Providers and Children’s Home Society. The softball tournament will be held Sunday, Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Dorie Miller Park in Lewisburg. Madison Carter will be singing the National Anthem to open the tournament and former CASA children will throw the first pitch of the games. Big Eazy’s BBQ and Concessions will be available. We will also have a Dunk Tank so you can come dunk your favorite people! Names to be announced on our Facebook event.
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) help give children a voice in court due to abuse and neglect. CASA’s mission is to train and administer volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the court system through collaboration with social service agencies, legal counsel other resources to obtain safe and permanent homes for the children. Since July 2014, CASA volunteer advocates have served 230 children with 2,700 volunteer hours.
Child and Youth Advocacy Center (CYAC) mission is to end child abuse in Greenbrier, Monroe, and Pocahontas Counties of West Virginia by coordinating a multidisciplinary response to child maltreatment through utilizing a team approach to investigation, prosecution, treatment and prevention.
Our team players give daily of themselves in order to combat child abuse in our local community. Come out and support your local team and players help raise money for abused children in our community. Winning team will receive a trophy and bragging rights for a year!
