Lewisburg-Armella Albertine Johnson, 96, passed away Monday, Mar. 27, 2023.
Armella was born Aug. 25, 1926 in Victoria, KS, to the late Joseph Adam and Adelaide Meis Sander.
Armella was a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in White Sulphur Springs and was a homemaker who loved to cook and quilt. In her earlier years she was employed at Walker Air Base in Kansas and helped to paint the Enola Gay, a Boeing B-29 Superfortress Bomber.
Besides her parents, Armella is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Dwain Johnson; three sisters; five brothers; daughter-in-law, Cookie Johnson and son-in-law, Roger L. Sheppard.
Survivors include daughter, Margie L. Sheppard; son, Robert D. “Bob” Johnson; four grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Apr. 1, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in White Sulphur Springs with Father Jim Conyers officiating. Burial will follow in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Lewisburg.
Family will receive friends on Friday, Mar. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg.
In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy may be made to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Roof Fund.
