Once again, the Greater Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce wrapped up another successful MEGA Business Showcase and Marketplace. The 2014 theme was “Commerce Connections,” and the organization did just that. With over 90 vendors, and more than 1,000 attendees during the fast-paced event, the Chamber’s motto of “We Mean Business in the Greenbrier Valley” was once again brought to life. Along with business to business networking at a “member’s only reception” prior to the main event, each Chamber member who registered for the event had the opportunity to network with many potential customers and clients throughout the two-and-a-half hour event. Every vendor presented a door prize to one lucky winner throughout the night, while the Chamber of Commerce provided five one hundred dollar drawings to five lucky winners to close out the evening. Free food was provided to patrons from several local restaurants who are registered Chamber members.
The ever popular silent auction was once again offered to the public, with over thirty local businesses donating sought-after items once again this year. The silent auction’s proceeds go directly to the Chamber of Commerce, where local programming for community outreach is supported through the Chamber.
The Chamber of Commerce would like to thank all of the staff, volunteers, vendors, board members, and the public for once again supporting this popular event, and all of the Chamber programming year after year. A special thanks goes to our major sponsors: Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, nTeols, WVNS News, Gillespie’s Flowers, The Daily News, Mountain Messenger, LB Spy, Summit Community Bank, and Shoney’s of Lewisburg. The Chamber would also like to extend a special thank you to WVVA News for continued live coverage before and during the event.
