Anna Ryder obitAlvon-Anna Gale Ryder went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016, at her home, surrounded by her family, after a three and a half year battle with cancer, she won.

She was born Feb. 9, 1944, at Alvon, a daughter of the late George N. Lynch and Anna L. Morgan Lynch.

Anna was a faithful servant of her Savior Jesus Christ always with a praise on her lips. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a member of the Alvon United Methodist Church and was retired from the housekeeping department at The Greenbrier Hotel after 15 years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Matthew Arick Ryder; brother-in-law, Bruce Kersey; nephew, Joshua Clendenin; and nieces, Roberta Ryder and Angela Nelson.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Noel C. Ryder; her children, “Her children arise up, and call her blessed. Proverbs 31:28” Karon Cole (Robert), David Ryder (Sherry), Keith Ryder (Cherie), Sherri Ratliff (Jerry), Regina Dolin (Darin) and Jared Ryder (Bethany); grandchildren, Jessica Bolen (Clayton), Eric Ratliff (Theresa), Matthew Cole (Brooke), Chelsea Ryder, Cassidy Wickline (Parish), Kenslea Davis (Nathan), Kellea Cole, Heather Webb (Dalton), Corbett Ryder, Cameron Ryder, Leah Ryder, Ashley Dolin, Aiden Dolin, Jeremiah Ryder and Isaiah Ryder; and eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Patsy Hollandsworth (Ronnie), Nellie McClintic (Bobby), Vickie Caldwell (Buck), Linda Kersey, Sammy Coleman (Elmer) and Bonnie Spinks (Buck); brothers, Henry Lynch (Christie), Mike Lynch (Debbie) and Johnny Lynch (Shirley); in-laws, Aciel Ryder (Nancy), Daniel Ryder (Naomi), Bill Ryder, Daralen Ward, Lilly Nelson (Bud), Inez Stineman, and Brenice McClaughlin; a special cousin whom we are all grateful for, Alma Lewis; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her beloved companion “Tiny” that spent many hours on her lap.

Her funeral service was held Wednesday, Aug. 17, at Alvon United Methodist Church, where Rev. Gerald Roberts, Bobby McClintic and Buck Caldwell officiated. Burial was in the Lynch Family Cemetery, Alvon.

Visitation was Tuesday evening, Aug. 16, at the church.

Pallbearers were: David Ryder, Keith Ryder, Jared Ryder, Corbett Ryder, Cameron Ryder, Eric Ratliff and Matthew Cole.
