Anna Blanche Freeman Wilkinson’s journey through life reached its final destination the 9th of June, 2017.
Anna was born Nov. 20, 1918, in Maxwelton. She waited patiently for just over 20 years to achieve the goal she and her late husband, Dwain, had established long ago; to be “Together Forever” at the end of life’s journey on Earth.
Anna was a homemaker and active in her church, Trinity United Methodist of Ronceverte, in the community, and was a marvelous seamstress. She served as Circle Chairperson and Treasurer for a number of years at Trinity.
Anna is survived by her sister-in-law, Lucille Freeman of Hagerstown, MD; daughter, Kaye W. Rodgers (John) of Lewisburg; son, John A. Wilkinson (Pamela) of Mineral, VA; grandson, Jeff Rodgers (Christy); granddaughters, Anne Owens (Jeff) and Sherri Gunnoe (Richard); great-granddaughter, Lauren Rodgers all of Lewisburg; and her friends and the wonderful care givers at Greenbrier Health Care Center.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Dwain E. Wilkinson; sisters, Ruth King and Edna Montgomery; and brothers, William, Alex and James Freeman.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Clifton Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund. These will support the care of her parents and other family members’ final resting place. Donations may be mailed to: Clifton Presbyterian Church, ATTN: Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 200, 16512 Seneca Trail North, Maxwelton, WV 24957.
There will be no fanfare or elaborate service. Her life of love and devotion to her family and community speaks for itself. There will be a brief graveside service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 15, at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens for any family members that wish to attend. The service will be led by the Rev. Rick Brown, pastor of the Lewisburg United Methodist Church.
