SavetheWaterTable.org is arranging a trip to one of the West Virginia Host Farms fracking areas on Oct. 25-27, and invite interested members to join in.
The Host Farm program is providing journalists, photographers, scientists, students, activists, politicians and concerned citizens with proximity to fracking activities from their own properties. The people who comprise the Host Farm network are committed to exposing the negative impacts that the fracking activities have unleashed.
The destination will be an area in West Virginia where fracking is underway; exactly where is yet to be determined.
There will be ample “up close and personal” photographic and video opportunities, time to hear from the hosts about their personal experiences and to share in discussions about the endless concerns that evolve from fracking industry activities.
Host families will provide with accommodations for both nights and SWTO will assume the cost of a rental passenger van.
The only expenses for attendees will be for food and shared fuel, toll costs.
The plan is to leave Friday morning and return on Sunday afternoon/evening and anticipate a few hours driving time to and from Monroe County.
If you would like to participate, please call Laurie Ardison at 304-832-6499 by Oct. 9. This will doubtless be an unforgettable journey! For more information, visit SavetheWaterTable.org.
