Local billionaire and gubernatorial candidate Jim Justice is facing another non-payment lawsuit, this time from a law firm.
In the U.S. District Court in eastern Louisiana, Phelps Dunbar LLP sued James C. Justice Companies LLC on Monday. The firm says the group represented Justice’s company in another lawsuit starting in 2011 and spanned several years. The Louisiana case involved a breach of contract for another company’s coal barge services.
In the Phelps Dunbar lawsuit, the law firm says Justice’s company hasn’t paid invoices from March 2013 to this June.
