Greenbrier Valley Airport manager reports that the airport’s flight schedule is set to change in December. Starting Dec. 1, Stephen Snyder says the airport and Silver Airways will offer a 10 a.m. nonstop flight to Dulles International Airport in Washington, DC.
As part of the “fly local” campaign, Snyder said that deep discounts will be offered to round-trip passengers through the month of December.

Allender Penn Stewart, a 2007 Greenbrier East graduate, recently completed her Masters of Architecture at the University of Kentucky concurrent with a certification in historic preservation and economic development. Stewart is a recipient of the American Institute of Architects Henry Adams Medal.
Stewart lives in Lexington, KY, and is the daughter of John and Sherry Stewart of Lewisburg.

A needle and syringe was found discarded along the road on Court Street in Lewisburg. A local resident alerted the police.

Route 60 near the post office in Crawley was closed down for about an hour following an accident involving a dump truck hauling gravel on Monday. According to reports, the driver of the truck swerved to avoid a deer and hit a power pole. The driver had only minor injuries, but was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
