The Greenbrier Valley Conservation District has announced the continuation of the West Virginia Century Farm program, which recognizes families who have been farming the same tract of land for at least 100 years.
The farm must have been in continuous operation by the same family, and a family member must live on the farm or be an integral part of the day-to-day operation of the farm enterprise. The farm must consist of at least 10 acres of the original holdings and gross more than $1,000 annually from farm products.
For recognition, applications must be received by the GVCD no later than May 1. Signs will be awarded to the Century Farm families selected by the GVCD.

Hawk Knob Hard Cider has launched a 30-day Kickstarter campaign to raise $20,000.
Owners Josh Bennett and Will Lewis hope to use the funds to set up a tap system and host regular tasting room hours at the cidery located outside Lewisburg.
