The Town of Alderson and Alderson Main Street (AMS) are excited to welcome visitors to the fourth annual Fall Festival, taking place on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year’s event will showcase handmade arts and crafts vendors, live music, food trucks, children’s activities, a lamppost decorating contest, and a special photo opportunity on the Alderson Memorial Bridge.

Based on feedback from past festivals, AMS has redesigned the event layout to improve vendor access, enhance safety, and create a better experience for everyone. The new plan features three festival zones:

Zone 1 – Near Fruits of Labor Café on the Greenbrier County side, utilizing the Community Market Pavilion and surrounding green space.

Zone 2 – On the Monroe County side, adjacent to the Amtrak access lane, featuring at least two food trucks and arts and crafts vendors.

Zone 3 – The largest zone, in the grassy area just west of the Train Depot, where musical performances will take place on the depot platform. Additional food trucks and a double row of vendors will fill the space.

A scenic photo opportunity will connect the two sides of the river in the middle of the pedestrian-only Alderson Memorial Bridge. Vendors will benefit from easier unloading near their spaces, while attendees will enjoy improved traffic flow and safety.

Festival amenities include portable toilets and fixed restroom facilities. Local businesses will also be open during the event and supporting the lamppost decorating contest with prizes. Sixteen lampposts, eight along Riverview Avenue (Greenbrier side) and eight along Railroad Avenue (Monroe side), are decorated seasonally by residents and businesses, creating a colorful, photo-worthy walk through town. Some lampposts are still available for one-time decorating opportunities for this year’s festival.

The Alderson Fall Festival promises a day of local flavor, creativity, and community spirit – perfect for all ages.
