Still suffering from the recent floods, the Town of Alderson Main Street Committee, aided by Greenbrier County Arts and Recreation Group, still sponsored their 3rd annual salute to “Bricktop,” the famed performer of Europe during the 1920s and ‘30s. The Robinson-Kenga Trio gave a rousing performance of the many songs she introduced and made popular, including “One of These Days,” “I’ll Be Glad When You’re Gone” and the sentimental Cole Porter ballad, “Miss Otis Regrets,” all to those attending, gathered on the Alderson Memorial Bridge, in the cool breezes off the Greenbrier River.
