Alderson Main Street has announced a Christmas Lights contest to be judged on Dec. 17 beginning at 1 p.m. The contest is open to any residence or business within the limits of the Town of Alderson. No registration is required.
The categories include: Best Business Display; Funniest Display; Best Traditional or Old Fashioned Display (Strung popcorn and cranberries, evergreens etc.); Best Nativity and Best Santa Land Display.
The winners will be honored at a reception which will take place Dec. 19 at 6 p.m. at the Greenbrier River Interpretive Center (GRIC). Cookies and punch will be served.
Alderson Main Street President Betty Thomas said, “We are excited to sponsor this contest. The great people of Alderson always decorate beautifully and this is a way to give them some recognition.”
The winners will be presented with a certificate and photographed with their certificate in front of the tree at the GRIC.
A news release will sent out with the winner’s names and a photo.
