The Alderson Community Market is raffling a gift basket full of local products on Tuesday, July 31 at the market.
The basket, a $115 value, contains baked goods from Fruits of Labor bakery; three pounds of ground beef from Swift Level Fine Meats; seasonal produce from Sprouting Farms, Debbie Weikle, and Frances Smith; blueberries from T.L. Fruits and Vegetables, a $20 gift certificate from Sunset Berry Farm; two ¾ quart Fridgesmart containers from Katie Kensinger; and handmade Honey Soap from Pie in the Sky Farm.
Raffle tickets cost $1 each and may be purchased at the Alderson Community Market located at the Greenbrier Interpretive Center (old Gulf Station) located on Route 3/12 by the old bridge in Alderson. The outdoor market is open every Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and features live music, activities for children, workshops, demonstrations, and a diverse group of vendors selling fresh local fruits and vegetables, local meat, eggs, handmade crafts, personal care products, baked goods such as pepperoni rolls and croissants, canned goods, plants, and a variety of prepared foods.
The market is a project of the Alderson Community Food Hub whose goal is to strengthen the community and local economy by creating opportunity for people to buy and sell locally produced products in a family-friendly atmosphere. The market accepts debit and credit cards, SNAP, and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Vouchers.
