The Alderson Community Market will be open every Tuesday from 3 to 6 p.m. starting Apr. 30 at the Visitors Center (the old Gulf station), by the Greenbrier River, on Route 3/12, near the old bridge.
On Tuesday, May 7, local vendors will be selling strawberries, asparagus, kale, lettuce, turnips, radishes, Choi, tomato plants, salad mix, chives, green onions, fresh herbs, herb plants, pork (breakfast sausage, fresh/no chemicals bacon, chops, shoulder roasts, plain ground, Italian ground, tenderloin medallions, fat back for lard), biscotti, oatmeal peanut butter bars, cinnamon rolls, cinnamon pecan rolls, pepperoni rolls, sweet rolls, raisin bread, cinnamon raisin bread, white, wheat, multigrain breads, sourdough bread, potato herb bread, sweet breads, salt rising bread, potato yeast bread, tomato herb bread, dill bread, dinner rolls, glazed donuts, cinnamon twist donuts, assorted cakes, different kinds of bagels, cream horns, fruit Danishes, fruit pies, cookies, croissants, garlic sticks, micro grains, beeswax candles, handmade soaps (including hemp oil and Shea butter), homemade jams and jellies, suet birdseed cakes, flowers, flowering planters, and Tupperware as a fundraiser for the Alderson Public Library.
There is a raffle for a Mother’s Day basket filled with items donated by vendors. Buy from a vendor, get a raffle ticket. There will also be fun, with music and activities for children.
Several vendors will also be accepting Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Vouchers, SNAP, SNAP Stretch, and WIC cards. Presented by the Alderson Community Food Hub.
