Albert Wallace Lindsey, 92, of Lewisburg, WV, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024, at the Peyton Hospice House. Born May 1, 1932, in Maywood, WV, he was the son of the late Dave Cummings and Mamie Hambrick Linsdey.
Albert retired in 2004 as the Sheriff of Greenbrier County. He also retired from the WV DOH and had worked at the Greenbrier. Albert loved the outdoors especially hunting West Virginia Whitetail. He was a US Army Korean War Veteran. Albert was a member of the Monroe Lodge #77 and Beni Kedem Shriners. He also served as president of the Ronceverte Raiders and Ronceverte Rams midget football league.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Lou Morgan Lindsey, three brothers, Dave, Herb and Frank Lindsey and a sister, Lucille Wade.
Survivors include his children, David Lindsey (Debbie), Greg Lindsey and Beth Richmond (Jeff), grandchildren, Ryan Lindsey, Megan and Lauren Lindsey, Laken Mazey (Eric), Jonathan Hatfield and Dylan Hatfield, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 4 at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, Lewisburg, WV, with Pastor Gary Baker officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 3, at the funeral home. Entombment will follow the service in the Greenbrier Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
