White Sulphur Springs-Alaisia Moét Smith, 17, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston.
Alaisia was born Feb. 21, 2002, in Low Moor, VA, the daughter of Denise Renee Howard and Walter Thomas Smith.
She was an 11th grader at Greenbrier East High School and participated on the basketball and track teams as a student. Alaisia attended Bethesda Church in White Sulphur Springs. She worked as an escape room attendant and baby-sitter at The Greenbrier Hotel.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Robert Douglas Howard, Sr.
Surviving Alaisia are her parents, Denise Renee Howard of White Sulphur Springs and Walter Thomas Smith of Covington, VA; sisters, Angel Gabriella Smith of Charleston and Savannah Grace Bell of Covington, VA; brothers, Antonio Davon Smith and Aamar Robert Smith both of White Sulphur Springs; grandparents, Judith Denise Howard of Covington, VA, Ralph Larry Smith of Washington, DC, Theresa Simms Smith of Washington, DC and Catherine Gail Vanness of Clifton, VA; aunts and uncles, Jason and Mandaly Howard of Covington, VA, Robert and Dixie Howard of Covington, VA and Randolph Smith of Clifton Forge, VA; and several cousins as well as a host of close friends.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 19, at Bethesda Church in White Sulphur Springs, where Pastor Chad Dingess officiated. Burial was in Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg.
Friends and family were received on Tuesday evening at the church in White Sulphur Springs.
