Affordable solar panel program to benefit area residents

Bethlehem Farm’s Green Neighbors program is helping local homeowners, nonprofits, and churches get affordable solar panels! Residents of Greenbrier, Summers, and Monroe counties who are at or below the US median income of $68,703 are eligible to apply for an interest-free loan of up to $12,000 for the cost of materials and installation.

Sunshine is plentiful – Bethlehem Farm can help you to use the sun’s energy to power your home. But, if the sun isn’t shining, you will still have power through your existing grid connection. Solar panels will meet all or part of a household’s electricity demand and reduce monthly power bills. As you pay back your loan each month, based on your electricity bill savings, each repayment will go toward funding solar panels for another local.

If you install solar panels in 2021, you may be eligible for a 26% tax credit for the next two years. Lower taxes, smaller electricity bills – what’s not to love? Once you install solar panels, you can continue to produce your own electricity for years to come.

Solar panels also empower a household to care for the environment by using less energy from fossil fuels. Solar, a clean energy source, doesn’t release harmful emissions. Help protect the beauty of West Virginia by installing solar today!

For more information or to request an application, please contact Gemma or Will at 304-445-7143 or visit bethlehemfarm.net/solar-panels.
