“Introduction to Adobe Lightroom,” a four-session non-credit photography course, is being offered at the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Rockbridge Regional Center in Buena Vista, VA, beginning Thursday, Nov. 3. The instructor is professional photographer Chuck Almarez, owner of Fire and Light Gallery in Clifton Forge, VA.
Lightroom is an organizational tool with significant editing and output capabilities. Students will learn how to import, organize, rate and tag images, and then output them in a variety of ways. The tuition fee is $180.
Students are asked to bring their own cameras to class. The Lightroom application software is installed on college computers, but it is recommended that students install Lightroom on their own personal laptop computer and bring them to class as well. A 30-day free trial can be downloaded from the Adobe website at http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-lightroom.html.
To register, contact Doug Jones, Programs Coordinator, at 540-863-2870 or djones@dslcc.edu. For information about the course, contact Almarez at fireandlight@ntelos.net. The Rockbridge Center is located at 35 Vista Links Drive, Buena Vista, VA.
