Bellini’s tale of lost love stars Sondra Radvanovsky in the title role, Joseph Calleja as her unfaithful husband Pollione and Joyce DiDonato as his forbidden love Adalgisa. The production will be conducted by Carlo Rizzi
“Radvanovsky commands all the elements for this challenging role … DiDonato reveled in the opportunity to show her softer side, deploying warmth and power.” —Wall Street Journal
Radvanovsky made her Met debut in 1996 as the Countess Ceprano in Giuseppe Verdi’s Rigoletto. She has filled title roles for Giacomo Puccini’s Tosca and Gaetano Donizetti’s Anna Bolena and Maria Stuarda. The soprano’s impressive résumé also includes Roberto Devereux, Il Trovatore and La Traviata.
