Nicholas “Nicky” B. O’Brien, 67, of Ronceverte, our brightest star, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026 at his home.

Nicky was born Jan. 14, 1958 in White Sulphur Springs to the late James Lewis and Nancy Sparks O’Brien.

Nicky was loved by all who knew him. He had a sense of humor and an optimistic outlook on life that left everyone better for knowing him. He was active at Sinks Grove Baptist Church and was a Christian who lived his faith in spite of health problems. You never heard him complain and he always kept looking forward to each day. He loved his wife of 47 years with all his heart. He was passionate about all things muscle cars and hotrods. He loved to rebuild and bring old Chevy muscle cars back to life. He and his son Phillip and his best friend Randy Stanley spent many hours in the garage sharing their love of cars. He was adored by all his nieces and nephews whom he doted on every chance he had.

Survivors include his wife Linda; sister, Terri Hylton and husband Mike; brother, Marty O’Brien and wife Sue; step-son, Phillip Boggs and wife Linda; sister-in-law, Carol Perdue; nieces, Emily Taylor, Sherri Workman and Shannon Kirk; nephews, Levi Hylton, Josh Kirk and Nathaniel Workman; greatnieces, Brylee Ann Taylor, Zoe Kirk, Tristan Toler, Lauren Hopkins and Elisabeth Honaker; great-greatnieces, Maeve, Rose and Renley and his fur buddies, Bandit and Little Bit.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Pastor Vince Deeds and Pastor Roger McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Scott Taylor, Levi Hylton, Randy Stanley, Ricky Kirk, Nathaniel Workman, Joshua Kirk, Ross Honaker and Brylee Ann Taylor.

Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 17, from 12 noon until time of service at 2 p.m.
