The Greenbrier County Commission convened in a special meeting on Monday, Nov. 17, to discuss the appointment of an interim County Commissioner following Commissioner Tammy Tincher’s recent resignation. Earlier this month, Tincher stated that she had accepted a new position working with the National Association of Counties.
Former County Commissioner Woody Hanna was presented to serve as Commissioner for the remainder of Tincher’s term. Hanna had previously served on the County Commission, winning the seat in the 2012 General Election, and was replaced by Tincher in the 2018 election.
“Mr. Hanna has been a former commissioner, and I served with him several years ago, and appreciate his interest in coming back and working with us again,” said Commissioner Rose.
Hanna will serve until the next general election, set for 2026, with the winner of that election serving until 2030.
