The Greenbrier County Commission met Tuesday, Oct. 28 for their regularly scheduled meeting. During new business, the Commission considered several items. Four bids were received for the website development and .gov domain migration project from SmartBiz TSG, GHD, CivicPlus, and Egghead. Following a thorough review with consultant Glenn Angst, SmartBiz TSG was selected as the winning bidder with a total bid amount of $14,500.
The Commission also reviewed bids for the FY 2024-2025 Single Audit contract. Three firms submitted proposals: Pizer & Associates in the amount of $27,200, BHM CPA Group in the amount of $28,750, and David Howell CPA’s in the amount of $25,095. Although BHM CPA Group submitted the highest bid, the firm holds the highest ranking with the West Virginia State Auditor’s Office. Based on this ranking and overall qualifications, the contract was awarded to BHM CPA Group.
Additionally, the Commission approved Draw Request No. 14 for the Greenbrier County GigReady Project in the total amount of $11,100, payable to project engineer Thompson & Litton. The Greenbrier County Commission is responsible for 25% of the total cost, or $2,775, which will be paid from the county’s available Tax Increment Financing (TIF) funds.
In other news, the Commission proclaimed the week of Nov. 4 through Nov. 11 as a time to recognize and honor the service and sacrifices of the nation’s men and women in uniform. In support of Operation Greenlight, residents are encouraged to display a green light in their windows during this week to show their appreciation for veterans and active-duty service members.
The Commission next considered and approved the reallocation of $22,932.03 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to support the county’s Comprehensive Plan. Following this action, commissioners met the requirements for the first reading of the proposed “Ordinance Relating to the Abatement of Public Nuisance.” A motion was adopted to suspend the full reading of the proposal; however, the complete text of the proposed ordinance will be published on the county’s website later this week. Final consideration and possible adoption of the ordinance will take place at a future Commission meeting.
The next Regular Meeting of the Greenbrier County Commission is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 12, at 10 a.m.
